In this role you will be responsible for creating and delivering accurate and timely financial and business reporting, supporting decision-making by the Operations teams, analyzing various projects, and suggesting operational improvements related to data collection, aggregation, and reporting.
The team is small. You will be exposed to senior leadership daily, allowing you to deeply learn the industry, profit drivers, and be exposed to business strategy. This role is highly dynamic day-to-day with a future career path toward senior financial leadership positions in Agriculture. Because of this, we are looking for a seasoned finance or accounting professional who wants to influence strategy and is capable of effective communication at all levels of the organization including with private equity partners, banks, and our Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Budgeting:
Owns the annual operating budget creation process.
Provides accurate and timely forecast updates.
Analyze and provide commentary on variances.
Assists with the creation of mid and long-term financial forecasts.
Performs other ad-hoc financial analysis using data extracted from various internal and cloud-based sources at a senior level using Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
Creates financial models to assist with strategic decisions.
Identifies and helps correct discrepancies or irregularities in records and documented transactions with the accounting and business systems teams.
Monitors compliance with internal and external accounting standards and financial policies with CFO, HR Manager, and other members of the leadership team.
Responds to ad-hoc information requests.
Power BI:
Master data management - ETL - collection, aggregation, and cleaning of data.
Database administration - designs databases containing fact and dimension tables in Power BI using Fabric.
Business data processes and controls - identifies business processes where simplification of the data collection and aggregation process would result in improved accuracy or efficiency.
Report design - Summarize data and choose effective visualizaton tools to highlight performance against company goals.
Qualifications • Prior experience with Microsoft Power BI is required. A strong applicant builds clean and efficient data models using a variety of source types and knows DAX. • Microsoft Excel - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are necessary to perform well in this role. • Strong numeracy and analytical skills - footing, checking, and validating are core aspects of this job. Great applicants are highly organized and detail oriented. • This mid-career role requires 8+ or more years of progressive work experience in financial management (accounting or finance). • Some Spanish is preferred, but not required.
