The Finance Analyst is a role is a key member of the Financial Planning and Analysis team. This position will support the monthly reporting, annual budgeting and sales and inventory management for a growing company in the Animal Lifecycle industry. In addition, this position will support the analysis of operating expense reporting, variance analysis, and support "add hock" analysis requests. The Financial Analyst is also required to apply proven collaboration, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to execute job responsibilities and work positively with internal and external stakeholders, customers, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, such as operating expenses (OPEX), cost of goods sold, reserves and provisions.
Financial Reporting: assist in the preparation of internal financial statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports.
Audit Preparation: assist in the preparation of necessary documentation for annual audits, working with external auditors as needed.
Tax reporting - work with outsourced providers to prepare and file state and local sales tax returns.
Other duties as assigned, such as supporting the analysis of for sales and rebates month end close.
General/Administrative
Supports the company vision, and its mission, and demonstrates the corporate core values in all professional activities.
Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules, and regulations.
Compiles and maintains all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
Follows systems and procedures outlined in company manuals.
Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
All other duties as requested by management.
Formal Education and Certification
Bachelor's degree is required, Business or Economics preferred.
MBA certification or CPA designation is a strong plus.
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive analysis experience.
Knowledge of and experience with financial computer applications and advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, formulas, Charts, etc.). Advanced reporting and software application skills are a plus.
Experience with identifying trends and anomalies in data sets.
Experience analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports, statements, and projections.
Application-level skills in Microsoft office suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Word.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and economic principles.
Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles a plus.

This position is based on-site in the Fort Worth, Texas office, with the opportunity to work in a hybrid setting after completion of the 90-day probationary period.
