We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join our esteemed client in the Grayslake area. This position is in a state-of-the-art distribution facility, offering excellent benefits upon permanent hire. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a starting pay of $23.00 per hour, working onsite Monday through Friday during the first shift.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure data integrity for purchase order entry and execution.
Manage vendor interactions within the Epicor system.
Meet all scheduling demands.
Review purchase orders and inventory.
Receive inventory within the Epicor system.
Oversee supplier delivery schedules.
Maintain part data accurately.
Send RFQs to suppliers and calculate landed costs (total estimated unit cost).
Resolve discrepancies with shipments and invoices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail.
Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Adaptability to change.
Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables.
Strong organizational skills.
Experience with Epicor is a plus.
Problem-solving skills to resolve and mitigate issues.
