Job Description:

The Team Lead is responsible for daily operations on the productions floor, supporting training of new hires, safety initiatives, managing supplies and equipment needs of department while achieving shipments and production goals.Uphold company policies and support employee morale, communicating regularly with coworkers and managers.

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate business needs to the department, supporting company policies through daily interaction, setting an example by upholding SMC company principles.
  • Tracking attendance matters, scheduling time off within the department while ensuring that business objectives can be reached.
  • Supporting training needs of the department, able to handle production responsibilities as needed.
  • Oversee safety and equipment needs of the department, ensuring that proper PPE is available and used properly and supporting the reporting and response needs of work related injuries or accidents.
  • Able to achieve shipments and production goals of the department through ongoing communication with leadership as needed.
  • Accommodate and multitask in order to meet production and quality requirements daily.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is a lead role and requires the individual to work with a level of autonomy, monitor the work of others with support from SMC leadership.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee can be exposed to moving parts and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment can be medium.

Physical demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This

position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and

climbing throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds and occasionally up 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours will vary depending on company needs. Overtime may be required Depending on production needs.

Travel:

Maybe required between facility and warehouse.

Required Education and Experience:

Minimum of a high school education.

Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.

Knowledge of business operations and production requirements

Basic office equipment

Preferred Education and Experience:

Leadership experience

Familiarity with software programs used in this job preferred.
