Position Type: contract to hire (eligible to convert at 6 months, however, may not become permanent right at 6 months)

Location: Round Rock, TX (Hybrid schedule, 2-3 days in the office each week. The manager and employee will outline the schedule in more depth)

Summary: The selected individuals will primarily serve as a DevOps Engineer on a small, cohesive Solutions Development team, focused on projects characterized by significant risk, complexity, and visibility. You will collaborate closely with software engineers to implement, maintain, and optimize software delivery pipelines and infrastructure.

Requirements:

- This person needs to have experience with all aspects of the DevOps process. Someone who can evaluate current processes, suggest improvements, provide guidance across multiple teams

- MUST HAVE experience within an AZURE environment (not AWS) and AZURE DEVOPS

- Prefer someone who can read and understand C#

- Someone with experience on BOTH the Application and Infrastructure side
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline; a Master's degree is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in DevOps, with an emphasis on automation and CI/CD practices.
  • Proficient in Ansible, Octopus, Chef, Azure DevOps, and Docker.
  • Experience deploying software across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Exposure to Web UI Frameworks, WebAPI technology, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with open-source tools like RabbitMQ, Redis, and Kafka.
  • A comprehensive understanding of software development best practices, security protocols, and monitoring/logging methodologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with software engineers and project teams to identify, design, and deploy software delivery pipelines and infrastructure utilizing prevalent tools like Ansible, Octopus, Chef, Azure DevOps, and Docker.
  • Automate software builds, deployments, and testing employing contemporary CI/CD methodologies.
  • Engage in daily scrum meetings, providing regular updates on project progression.
  • Monitor and fine-tune application performance, swiftly addressing any arising issues.
  • Aid in automating system installations and furnish post-deployment supportfor customer-reported matters.
  • Address customer-reported bugs linked to automation, formulating effective resolutions.
  • Provide well-informed timelines and estimates for the delivery of top-notch automation and enhancement of the delivery pipeline.
  • Document DevOps system designs and contribute technically to the creation of user guides.
  • Stay abreast of evolving industry trends and technologies, proposing enhancements to solutions as necessary.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to industry best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, notably C#.
  • Experience encompassing both web and application development.
  • Exposure to infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., Git) and Azure DevOps for managing work items.
  • Experience with Jenkins and monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch.
