The Role:

The SQL Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for all aspects of the strategy, design, development, and improvement of the Data Warehouse, and analytical tools that provide a central, single source of truth for Mezzetta. Deliver multiple complex business intelligence projects and provide support for current data warehousing and analytical tools. Work closely with other IT team members and business partners to understand business needs, analyze and understand data, design and deliver appropriate solutions.

What You'll Do:
  • Grow the value of BI and Analytics at Mezzetta. Expand its breadth and depth, promoting its use, and evolving the content to deliver increased business insights.
  • Own the integration, adaption, and evolution of BI solutions as part of the ERP replacement project.
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of Business Intelligence information to the entire organization.
  • Balance real time support, short-term needs, long-term needs as well as strategic plans, maintaining service levels and delivering projects on time while continuing to move the overall BI environment forward.
  • Work with leaders to build, evolve and execute a BI solutions roadmap to enhance access to information and insights.
  • Identify opportunities (including tools, technology, approach, and design) and develop a strategic BI technology plan to appropriately make use of new technology to evolve the BI environment, improve reliability, and quality of insights.
  • Deliver Business intelligence solutions using existing stack standards (SQL Server, Azure Analysis Services, Power BI and SSRS) and other tools as they evolve over time.
  • Work collaboratively with Business Analysts and end users to design and develop complex solutions, warehouse data, perform relational and dimensional data modeling, and creating reporting and visualizations.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Business Intelligence solutions are accurate, available, performant and secure. Implement monitor and manage ETL, ensuring the accurate and reliable flow of data between systems
  • Diagnose, fix, and improve complex issues across the entire stack.
  • Expand, support, and improve the existing Data Warehouse / Mart / ETL / reporting environment.
  • Enhance the abilities of the other members of the IT team through mentoring and education on BI and reporting technologies.
  • In addition to contributing directly thru hands on work, manage consultants and vendors, as needed, to deliver projects and ensure ongoing health of the solutions. and specialists as needed to deliver projects on time on budget and to standards.
  • Evolve solid documentation standards for Business Intelligence solutions and consistently apply the standards across projects
  • Contribute to the overall IT budget thru ownership of the Business Intelligence budget (Operational, Project, and Capital), forecasting needs and managing expenses within the approved budget.

Who you are and what you'll need for this position:
  • 5+ years' experience designing and executing Data Warehouses and analytics using standard relational and dimensional modeling techniques
  • Experience in Tabular/Dimensional modeling (SSAS-tabular/Tableau/Essbase/Cognos Universe/OBIEE)
  • Strong Microsoft TSQL language skills and be comfortable troubleshooting and maintaining complex queries and procedures
  • Strong relational DB design skills on SQL Server, including indexing and performance management
  • Experience in PowerBI or related/competing visualization tools(OBIEE/Tableau/DOMO/Qlik/etc.)
  • Experience designing and executing DataMarts optimized for Analytics tools
  • Solid problem-solving skills that manifest in an ability to turn business needs into clear, appropriate, and supportable technical solutions
  • Communicate clearly and affectively with both IT and non IT staff
  • Solid project and time management
  • Logical and curious thinker, with verbal and quantitative reasoning, and the ability to step back and see patterns
  • Strong technical skills and a passion for data infrastructure and analytics
