Job Description:
SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager - Live will be responsible for managing the Live Accounting
department along with the accounting/financial activities relating to Pullets/Breeders, Hatcheries, Feed
Mills, Broiler grow-out, Live Haul and Farm Services. This position will be responsible for supporting
positions related to Live Accounting and to implement best practices for the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
? Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for Live Production.
? Prepare audit schedules for both internal and external audit requirements.
? Prepare analyses of daily, weekly and monthly data and reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
? Work with leadership to prepare both capital and operating budgets.
? Participate in monthly budget reviews by providing monthly and YTD budget analysis for decision
making.
? Work with Operations to complete "Authorizations for Expenditures" and provide financial payback for
pertinent projects.
? Communicate results and findings to management on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis.
? Work with information systems and management to improve performance and reporting.
? Participate on various teams and projects as opportunities arise.
? Ensure proper reporting of inventories and fixed assets for all cost centers within the live production
complex.
? Ensure accounting activities are in compliance with accounting policies, accounting guidelines,
governance policies, and internal controls.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
? Required
o Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Plus 5 years of experience in
accounting or 9 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
o Experience leading, coaching, and developing staff members
o Strong communication skills both verbal and written
o Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
