Chicago CRED is a mission driven organization working to achieve transformational reduction in violence in Chicago. CRED does its work by offering direct services to those who are at the highest risk of violence, advocating for policy reform to increase public investment into community violence interventions, and promoting cross-sector coordination to achieve maximum impact.
Department Function
Collects and presents data and information to support day-to-day program operations, measure program outcomes and impact, resource allocation, and program strategies.
Supports data needs for a variety of CRED and non-CRED Teams, including CRED's Program, Development, and Finance Teams, community partners, funders, and researchers
Administers and maintains CRED's Program Management platform, Salesforce
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage short and long-term data projects including gathering requirements, developing project timelines, selecting appropriate tools for data cleansing, analysis, and visualization
Apply critical thinking and objective analysis to data sets, identify data trends, highlight anomalies
Build new functionality in CRED Salesforce system to support the evolving needs of the organization
Provide Salesforce support to CRED Program Teams and Partner Program Teams through end-user setup and training, generating reports and dashboards
Ensure Salesforce data quality through identifying, investigating, and managing the resolution and escalation of data quality issues
Export and import data, along with facilitating data transformations
Collect and analyze crime and violence data from a range of public and private sources including the City of Chicago Violence Reduction Dashboard, City of Chicago Data Portal, Salesforce, external violence prevention organizations, etc.
Prepare data visualization
Integrate CRED Salesforce system with external partners

Experience and Qualifications
Salesforce administration and/or development
Understanding of Salesforce automation best practices including Flow
Data visualization utilizing Tableau or other data visualization software, along with strong quantitative, and analytical skills
Experience working with a range of data sets; sensitive and/or confidential, small to large, complex and/or administrative data
Strong communication skills and ability to present to various stakeholders of varied technical backgrounds
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs in order to best support CRED's mission
Works effectively and efficiently, both virtually and in-person, independently and part of a team
Learns new technologies quickly and takes a pragmatic approach to using data and technology
Intermediate to advanced experience with Google Sheets and Excel
Bonus Experience and Qualifications
Experience using data to support and/or measure impact of social service programs
Experience with Python and utilizing Pandas for data manipulation
Experience with Google Apps Script or JavaScript
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Salesforce Administrator Certification and/or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder or expected to complete upon hire
Location
This position will be hybrid, based out of the downtown Chicago office, but will require travel to site locations on the west side, south side, and other locations within the Chicago area.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to work with a computer for extended periods of time-up to 80%.
Schedule is generally 9-5 with occasional flexibility to support program team whose hours can vary
