Wells Fargo is seeking a CIB Business Management Director within CIB Banking. Our model covers both industry-aligned teams (Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, Energy & Power, Financial Institutions, Banks, Industrials, Real Estate, Gaming and Leisure, and Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) and cross-business teams (Regional Investment Banking, Sponsor Coverage, Regional Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Capital Markets product teams). This role will oversee strategic efforts and day-to-day activities related to Regional Investment Banking and the Investment Banking (IB) partnership with Commercial Banking (CB). This role will be critical in developing and executing the new strategy for IB/CB across Wells Fargo and the planning and facilitation of supporting initiatives.

The CIB Business Management Director will work directly with business & COO leaders and support partners across the CIB and CB organizations and will serve as a trusted advisor and extension of senior Banking leadership, including being the primary partner for the Head of Regional Investment Banking Coverage. This position will be responsible for driving business strategy and execution, talent planning, client planning, and business and sales metrics, including group and sector performance as well as competitive benchmarking.

In this role, you will:
  • Be responsible for day-to-day management, execution, and tracking/reporting of the Strategic Execution Priorities.
  • Partner with CB leaders to implement and support new IB/CB sales and pipeline disciplines including regular cadence of divisional pipeline reviews, deals done away analysis and review, ongoing IB/CB opportunity identification and qualification process, and IB/CB aspects of account planning
  • Lead the design and implementation of coordinated CB and CIB client engagement and marketing strategy, partnering with CB and CIB teams on all aspects of budgeting, planning, client targeting, collateral materials and event execution
  • Drive execution of IB/CB executive reporting, Monthly Business Reviews, and other internal storytelling in partnership with Finance, Strategy and Chief of Staff/COO teams in CIB and CB
  • Lead development and implementation planning for technology solutions which uniquely enable IB/CB, beyond the scope of BAU technology
  • Develop M&A routines for opportunities with CB clients including development of pipeline reporting
  • Support buildout of middle market M&A strategy and execution
  • Partner with CIB and CB Compliance and Risk partners to develop a licensing framework for CB leaders and RMs
  • Manage a team to execute against these priorities on behalf of CIB and CB in close partnership with the business leader of this initiative
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of corporate & investment banking business management experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Technical ability to manage complex workstreams and strategic ability to interpret results
  • Project management expertise to run committees, initiatives, employee engagement events, training efforts, etc.
  • Ability to motivate a team and lead strategic initiatives, collaborating across a large organization and multi-tasking as required
  • Ability to manage large-scale initiatives including stakeholders across business, legal, control, support and technical teams
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and achieve goals in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to research and report on a variety of issues using problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of investment banking and commercial banking products including debt capital markets, M&A, loan syndications and underwriting as well as other relevant Commercial Banking products
  • Experience in problem analysis, solution implementation, and successful change management

  • Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 24 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Pay Range
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
