Job Description:

Our Northwest Houston client is seeking a QHSE Lead to advise and support management and employees on all HSE matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Analyze injury, illness, and incident reports, ensuring proper follow-up and legal compliance.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the company's OSHA program, maintaining required records and serving as the main OSHA contact.
  • Develop cost-effective workers' compensation and injury prevention programs in collaboration with HR.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of safety, hazmat, and other HSE-related procedures, programs, and policies.
  • Plan and facilitate preventative, safety, and compliance training sessions.
  • Investigate accidents and injuries, handling all HSE-related departmental activities.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to evaluate and improve safety conditions and practices, ensuring compliance with municipal, state, and federal HSE regulations.
  • Stay updated on HSE regulations and reporting requirements by attending seminars, reading industry publications, and conducting necessary research.
  • Manage third-party audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other federal agencies.
  • Develop and implement the company's QHSE strategy, aligning it with core values and driving organizational growth.
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with management to deploy key HSE initiatives and communicate important updates to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on QHSE performance, tracking metrics like incident rates and quality defects to maintain certifications.
  • Perform ISO assessments and oversee the company's quality management system, ensuring compliance and assisting with the implementation of quality policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and prepare for annual ISO audits, addressing any findings.

Qualifications:

Required-
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience in safety, environmental, and risk management and compliance
  • 5 years in ISO knowledge and certification accomplishments
  • 5 years of experience in quality control/quality assurance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement QHSE policies and procedures
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA and other relevant guidelines
  • OSHA Certified
  • Experience working in an ISO environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools

Preferred-
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences (or other HSE-related degree)
  • Experience in a gas turbine or industrial repair business
  • Bilingual in Spanish
