JOB SUMMARY:


The Production Worker II is responsible for performing a variety of tasks involved in the production of L.B. Foster products while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Production Worker II's are trained in no less than half the production areas of their department.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


1. Follow all safe work practices and procedures.
2. Utilize 5S standards to maintain a clean and safe work area.
3. Carryout verbal and written instructions from Foreman.
4. Be trained in two production processes or production of two products.
5. Complete jobs in a timely fashion to ensure on time shipment.
6. Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
7. Read and interpret work instructions, then execute work per instructions.
8. Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
9. Perform regular pre-operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified.
10. Set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools.
11. Trained and signed off on mobile equipment or cranes required to complete work assignments.
12. Work with quality and production teams to identify areas for process improvement


EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & LICENES REQUIRMENTS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1-3 years of experience in a production environment


SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Ability to read and understand written instructions

  • Ability to use a tape measure

  • Average proficiency in mathematics

  • Ability to prioritize and use time efficiently

  • Ability to focus on problem solving and teamwork

  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Ability to climb up and down ladders up to 15 feet

  • Average proficiency in mathematics

  • Good visual acuity
