Position Summary:

International Hearing Society (IHS) based in Farmington Hills, Michigan, is seeking a full-time Certification Program Manager to manage the board certification program for partner National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. In this capacity the Certification Program Manager will deliver energy, strategy, and strong execution in order to drive results and growth, and program compliance and maintenance.

The Certification Program Manager is responsible for: overseeing certification and compliance activities, developing and achieving business plans for growth, managing daily business and accounting functions for department, managing volunteer committees, and leading a team of 1-2 staff/contractors. The Director will operate at IHS' Farmington Hills office, which is newly constructed with modern collaborative space.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all accreditation functions, including reaccreditation and revalidation renewals, compliance, maintenance, policy development, quality assurance processes and improvement opportunities, and completing annual reports to ICE.
  • Manage testing oversight and development, overseeing psychometrics firm relationship and any necessary RFP processes, coordinating job task analyses, item writing and analyses, standard setting, beta testing, score reporting activities, exam form development and maintenance, and exam security.
  • Oversee exam volunteer selection, onboarding and management, nominations and election processes, aligning with accreditation standards. Manages volunteer teams in support of credential program curriculum development and assessment cycles. This includes planning and executing committee meetings and developing meeting deliverables.
  • Contribute to development and implementation of strategic plan.
  • Work with Executive Director and Marketing Team to support development, execution, and acquisition of public and provider marketing materials and products, and consumer awareness of board-certified hearing professionals.
  • Oversee recruitment, application, certificant maintenance, recertification/revalidation processes, and engagement program. This includes managing appeals, accommodations requests, and digital badge maintenance.
  • Maintain, develop, and execute website updates and oversee and execute communications with current and prospective board certificants.
  • Oversee database, auditing, CE transfer process, and database integrity activities.
  • Oversee regular review, compliance, and updates to organizational and testing policies and procedures, in alignment with accreditation/certification standards.
  • Financials - Collaborate with Executive Director on budget development, oversight, and achieving budgetary goals.
  • Manage day to day invoicing and vendor sourcing and agreements.
  • Manage 1 - 2 department staff and contractors.
  • Provide staff support for certification and recertification periods as needed.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Experience with developing and/or maintaining certification programs, as well as knowledge of best practices. Familiarity with ICE standards and accreditation desired.
  • Knowledge credentialing principles, processes, and best practices, policy development, and ability to utilize new technologies to assist with goals.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in a similar role in an association.
  • Minimum of three years of management-level experience, including experience creating and managing department budget and financials.
  • Experience supervising and retaining qualified staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and project management tools.
  • Working knowledge of AMS/CRM systems; iMIS experience desired.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Team oriented and possess effective interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, time-management, multi-tasking, planning and follow up skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed, typically 2-4 times per year.
