Job Description:

PROJECT MANAGER II OPPORTUNITY OUT OF OUR MILWAUKEE CORPORATE OFFICE

Hybrid schedule, 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home

OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:

Under the direction of the Sr. Operations Manager and the Senior Manager, Project Manager II - C&I coordinates pre-sale activity through successful project close out. This may include managing major schedule milestones, facilitating scope and contract development, design resource scheduling, change management, and coordination with sales, design, manufacturing, field service, contractors and customers.

DAY TO DAY:

  • Estimate and develop customer contracts in an accurate and detailed manner. This includes but is not limited to interpreting plan sets or technical drawings, identifying the scope of services required, conducting quantity take offs and clearly identifying scope inclusions, exclusions and assumptions.
  • Input and manage data in Salesforce (CRM) and ERP systems.
  • Facilitate resource planning and scheduling with internal departments including Design, CAD, Technical Services and Field Service.
  • Facilitate cross-functional internal teams, to ensure that major project schedule milestones are achieved, internal lead times are protected, and that the customer receives a seamless, turnkey service experience.
  • Proactively communicate with external partners to minimize scope gaps, establish delivery schedule and site condition expectations.
  • Interface with customer on as needed basis to clarify scope, exclusions and general overview of service provided.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to resolve conflict, navigate complex situations, troubleshoot non-typical project conditions, and actively resolve open or escalated issues.
  • Proactively close out projects to ensure customer satisfaction and timely payment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop new product SKUs and pricing, as required by account.
  • May be required to complete special assignments on an as needed basis.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Construction Management or Manufacturing Engineering preferred, and three plus years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret architectural drawings and plans.
  • Highly functional with Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, SharePoint and Teams.
  • Experience with Salesforce is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP Systems is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Epicor ERP system a plus.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret architectural and design drawings preferred.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in construction or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary.
  • Thrives in deadline driven, challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong aptitude for scope change management.
  • Ability to proactively manage customer (internal and external) expectations.
  • Ability to foster partnership and engagement with cross functional teams.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills to resolve conflict, navigate complex situations and work independently.
  • Must apply mathematical reasoning to assess contract price changes, and communicate accordingly.
  • Ability to train junior team members.
