Bill Watts at Robert Half is working with a global Tier automotive supplier who is looking to add a new Senior Financial Analyst to their growing department! As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in financial planning, analysis, and decision support for our company's automotive operations. This position requires a strong understanding of automotive finance, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis to drive profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process for automotive operations, collaborating with department heads and senior management to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
Conduct variance analysis between actual results and budget/forecast projections, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions as needed.
Profitability Analysis:
Analyze automotive product lines, customer segments, and geographical markets to assess profitability and identify areas for margin improvement.
Evaluate pricing strategies, product mix, and cost structures to optimize profitability and drive revenue growth.
Financial Modeling and Reporting:
Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making, including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and investment evaluation for automotive projects and initiatives.
Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics, trends, and insights.
Capital Expenditure (Capex) Management:
Evaluate and prioritize capital expenditure projects for automotive facilities, equipment upgrades, and technology investments.
Prepare financial justifications, ROI analysis, and NPV calculations to support Capex decisions and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Cost Analysis and Cost Management:
Analyze automotive manufacturing and operational costs, including direct labor, materials, overhead, and inventory management.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, efficiency improvements, and process optimizations to enhance cost competitiveness and profitability.
Forecasting and Demand Planning:
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to develop accurate demand forecasts for automotive products and components.
Support inventory management initiatives, production planning, and supply chain optimization to meet customer demand and minimize costs.
Financial Compliance and Controls:
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for automotive operations.
Support internal and external audits, addressing audit findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Business Partnering and Decision Support:
Partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, sales, and procurement, to provide financial analysis, insights, and decision support for automotive projects and initiatives.
Support strategic initiatives, business case development, and investment proposals for automotive business growth and expansion.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (CFA, CPA) is a plus.
Several years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or related roles, preferably in the automotive industry.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
Knowledge of automotive finance, manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and supply chain management.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
