Broad Function:

The Process Engineer will lead the operations team to facilitate the implementation of our Operational Excellence Program using best practices and trends to develop and implement processes designed with improved safety, quality, and efficiency.The key role includes troubleshooting process issues, trending operating conditions, managing projects, and identifying and validating process technology. The functional position will work closely with frontline operations and maintenance team members, daily. The process engineer will also take on a small number of the plant operational functions to gain experience and help control margin i.e., sustainable development, safety projects, environmental impact improvements, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design improvement analysis of existing processes and new product process equipment capabilities
  • Standardize equipment and practices including process flow sheets, P&ID flow sheets, assembly drawings, details drawings, mass balances, and fabrication layout drawing.
  • Establish and support the preventative maintenance programs and key parts lists and inventories.
  • Supervision of capital and continuous improvement projects
  • Qualification of vendors
  • Validation of process changes and finished product quality
  • Travel between sites in California and Nevada; time at Nevada site is estimated at ~25%

Key Competencies:
  • Proven experience as process and manufacturing engineering; three plus years
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of mineral mill operations, machinery, electrical systems etc.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to develop and modify programs for PLC's and variable frequency drives.
  • Good analytical and decision-making capabilities

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in engineer; focus on process and manufacturing engineering.
  • Proficiency in computer aided drafting
  • Proficiency in program logic, including but not limited to programmable controller software and PC data logging.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products - Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, loading charts, material labeling and safety data sheets.
  • Must be capable of safely accessing ladders, elevated work platforms, stairs and manlifts to repair, inspect, or adjust equipment while maintaining three-point contact to minimize the risk of falling.
  • Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must be able to recognize hazards associated with this job and take appropriate action to avoid accidents.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the essential functions of this position, the candidate will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Occasional outdoor environments, moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Standing for long periods on concrete or other hard surfaces; walking over rough and uneven terrain.
  • Frequently works in high places and is frequently exposed to vibration.
  • Work performed primarily in manufacturing and processing site.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing.
  • Frequent use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, manipulation tools/objects, and writing/typing.
  • Frequently required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) with or without assistance.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 100lbs and occasionally lift and/or move weights over 100lbs.
