Job Description:

Scope of Responsibility: The Director of CI will partner with relevant teams across the sites to improve performance of the organization by identifying, developing, coordinating, organizing, and executing the strategy to improve efficiencies throughout all aspects of the division. Highly visible position overseeing continuous improvement across multiples facilities within the division, requiring strong internal and external relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.

Essential Duties:
  • Develop and execute a cohesive strategy for continuous improvement, deploy plan, own regular progress reporting to Division Leadership.
  • Challenge current processes through demonstrated methodologies and tools as well as provide guidance and knowledge to key operations leadership to lead and change the organization.
  • Create a process improvement culture by using various tools such as: lean, six sigma, waste reduction, shop floor visual management, and others.
  • Lead and facilitate events with cross functional teams to optimize solutions from end to end and drive bottom line improvement.
  • Analyze multi-site issues regarding things such as efficiencies, capacity utilization, and costs and make into actional projects.
  • Other duties as assigned, directed, requested, or needed.

Primary Focus:
  • Develop, optimize and track KPI's (key performance indicators) - drive corrective actions if off track.
  • Serve in key leadership role driving Continuous Improvement across the division.
  • Act as champion, coach, and subject matter expert driving CI, operational KPI's and excellence.
  • Effectively communicate with all executive levels and operational management to ensure that goals and objectives are being met.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred or experience in an engineered to order manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 years Continuous Improvement, Operational Management or similar experience preferred.
  • Desired experience in large engineered to order manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in bottom line performance improvement through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles.
  • Ability to function as a change agent to quickly develop relationships to drive change.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
  • Strong leadership presence.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to work between 7 manufacturing locations (Travel outside DFW areas ~30%)
  • Ability to apply Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles in engineered to order manufacturing processes (TAKT Time, Leader Standard Work, Shop Floor Visual Management, Waste Reduction, 5S, Technology Advancements, Value Stream Mapping, Lean Office, TPM)
