The Senior Commodity Manager is responsible for facilitating the sourcing of preferred suppliers, pricing negotiations, contract management, improvement of work related processes, supporting stakeholders, and the identification and implementation of key metrics and tools related to the management of HID's Supply Chain for direct materials

The Position :

The Senior Commodity Manager will lead Performance, Commercial and Relationship Management for the suppliers in the assigned Commodities to transform, upgrade, and increase scale of the HID supply chain.

This individual will develop strategies that enable HID to continue to meet year/year cost savings, improve supplier quality, delivery performance and risk reduction, as well as work closely with the Engineering and Product Marketing teams to support development of new technologies and products.

This high visibility role will drive and execute material plans working with new and existing suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply of products from HID suppliers to HID's customers.

As our Senior Commodity Manager , you'll support HID's success by:

  • Develop and execute the Commodity management strategy for assigned spend areas.
  • Through facilitation of cross-functional teams, lead Strategic Sourcing methodology for selection of preferred suppliers from the HID Supplier Assessment/Selection process as required.
  • Manage the planning and launch of RFIs/RFPs within the assigned Commodities.
  • Generate cost savings from Strategic Sourcing projects and supplier negotiations.
  • Works with management and key stakeholders to establish annual strategies and goals, including forecasted spend, savings and performance goals.
  • Manage supplier selection and develops data analysis / requirements for informed decisions
  • Conduct regularly scheduled supplier performance reviews (i.e. QBR's) and manages supplier performance through compliance to contractual terms and conditions and structured utilization of HID Supplier Scorecards.
  • Negotiate, draft and redline various types of supplier agreements/contracts. Management of all master supply agreements for assigned suppliers.
  • Work closely with HID Supplier Relationship Managers to successfully leverage consolidated spend and de-risk the Supply Chain for assigned Commodities.
  • Work closely with HID Supply Chain NPI teams to successfully launch new products into supply base as needed.
  • Update inventory strategies to best meet customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Actively monitor the market for intelligence and business trends and benchmark against best practices.
  • Support Technology on new product development. Work with Suppliers/ Engineering to develop / align electronics sourcing roadmaps to long term sourcing strategies.
  • Assigned Commodities include, but are not limited to: Electronic components (cabling, PCBA, connectors Switches, etc.
  • Maintain current knowledge regarding global market conditions affecting supply chain, develop and factualize based on data, corresponding strategies to ensure meeting Sourcing policy deployment objectives.
  • Identifying, managing and mitigating supply chain risk for assigned commodities

Your Experience and Education include:

  • Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain with minimum 5 to 8 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years Purchasing/Sourcing/Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing supply agreements and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on follow up and follow through is expected.
