How You'll Add Value
As a Buyer at Azenta Life Sciences you will be responsible for the procurement of materials across multiple portfolios and managing all aspects of supply including negotiation and cost savings. You will manage Azenta's relationships with Suppliers, including weekly production planning reviews and monthly/ quarterly business reviews, as well as communicating the business vision and working with the suppliers to achieve the goals.
What you will do:
Procurement of all products, managing all aspects of materials supply
Meeting with suppliers to negotiate best price, quantity and delivery timescales
Driving savings
Maintain relationships with existing and source new suppliers
Ensuring products are delivered to promise dates
Identifying and managing supply chain risks, communicate with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risks
Working proactively to resolve any supply issues/problem solve
Driving initiatives and continuous process improvement to help the team to become more efficient and effective
Generating internal management reports for purchasing team
Participation in Kaizen events and continuous improvements sessions
Close cooperation and communication with internal stakeholders: Lab technicians/managers, Logistics, Finance, Quality
Working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive purchasing metrics
What you will bring:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus APICS certification (CPIM) preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience with purchasing/ demand /production planning within a manufacturing environment
Experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement teams and activities
Expert understanding of Oracle (or similar) MRP based planning system.
Expert capability in modern sourcing principles
Microsoft office proficient
Abilities to handle multiple competing priorities for multiple projects.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization
Confidentiality to people outside the organization
A true sense of urgency
Ability to analyze cost effectiveness and make sound commercial / business decisions
