General Description:

Feldesman Leifer LLP, a boutique law firm with offices in Washington, DC and Sacramento, CA, seeks a highly capable associate with three or more years of relevant experience and general knowledge of the health care delivery system. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the regulatory framework for publicly-funded health and human service programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, and HHS-administered grant programs) and transactional experience related to contracts between providers and vendors in compliance with federal fraud and abuse laws as well as participation agreements with managed care organizations or provider networks in compliance with federal Medicare and Medicaid managed care regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate healthcare-related agreements, including professional services agreements, affiliation agreements, vendor agreements, technology-related agreements such as software licensing, data sharing agreements, and telehealth service agreements, and business associate agreements.
  • Advise clients on healthcare regulatory compliance issues, related to reimbursement under Medicare and Medicaid, fraud and abuse laws, and HIPAA/confidentiality.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and client communications.
  • Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and support staff to ensure the highest level of client service and satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in healthcare regulations and advise clients on how to adapt to new regulations.
  • Draft client alerts, blogs, and other publications to inform and engage clients around significant legal developments, trends, and best practices.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of healthcare experience.
  • Excellent academic credentials and references.
  • Strong legal writing and communication skills.
  • District of Columbia or Pennsylvania bar membership or the ability to waive into the bar is required.
