Our client, a PE owned construction and service company located in the west suburbs of Chicago, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their team! This company is a subsidiary of a global organization that provides a range of products and services for various industries. This person will be responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial management for a region encompassing multiple states. This position is onsite with remote flexibility as needed.
This job in a nutshell:
Responsibilities include corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, development of internal control policies and procedures, general ledger preparation, and year-end audit preparation
Provide leadership and direction for the accounting team in areas of accounting guidance, financial management, reporting, process improvement, and internal controls
Lead all accounting operations and team of six employees in Billing, AR, AP, GL, and Fixed Assets
Support of operations team
Support of budget and forecast activities
We are looking for (key requirements/preferences):
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Business, or related field
8+ years of relevant accounting experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, process improvement
3+ years of supervisory experience
Financial project management experience
Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting
Excellent Excel skills
Strong working knowledge of financial data analysis, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting is a plus
CPA is a plus
