Job Description:

Job Summary: Performs General Accounting and other related duties involving the Financial Accounting function, including General Ledger maintenance, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Journal Entries, and Financial Statement preparation and analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:

General Accounting, AR, AP Processing and Reconciliations 50%
  • Review daily bank activity and prepare monthly reconciliations of bank statements
  • Reconcile key general ledger accounts such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation and reporting of intercompany payables with affiliate companies

Administer General Ledger Activity, Chart of Accounts, and posting of Journal Entries as part of the Monthly Close process 20%
  • Responsible for Journal Entry activity during Monthly Close process, including subsystems interface with General Ledger
  • Perform proper recording and periodic amortization of Prepaid Expenses
  • Ensure proper accounting for Payroll-related and Benefits Accounts, including General Ledger interface with ADP Payroll System
  • Maintain General Ledger master data, including establishing of GL Accounts

Prepare Monthly Financial Statements and Financial Reporting Packages 20%
  • Prepare internal Monthly Financial Reporting package for review with Management
  • Ensure Financial Statements are in accordance with required basis of accounting, such as IFRS and/or U.S. GAAP

Maintain Fixed Asset Database and Depreciation Records 10%
  • Record Fixed Asset additions & retirements in the financial system
  • Transact monthly Depreciation of Fixed Assets
  • Reconcile Fixed Asset Details to General Ledger, including Construction in Process Account
  • Manage proper Accounting and Reporting of Capitalized Leases

Other duties as assigned, including acting as backup to HO Finance

Qualified Experience and Training:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS/BBA) in Accounting or Finance or 6+ years equivalent work experience

  • Required: Working knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Must have strong analytical and mathematical abilities

  • Familiar with Deltek CostPoint

Required:
  • The ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with internal and external customers at all levels of personnel. Able to read and interpret various types of technical documentation and data

Technical Systems Proficiency:

Required:
  • Ability to use computers, and associated software - MS Office, Google Suite

Preferred:
  • Familiar with Major Platform ERP Systems (SAP, Deltek, Others)

  • Equipment operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools several times a week
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer daily
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving several times a month
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices several times a month
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice once or twice a year
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office daily
  • PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
