Optomi, in partnership with one of our premiere clients, is looking for a Network Engineering Operations Manager to join their team! As the Manager of Network Operations, the incumbent will manage a Team Lead and a team of Network Engineers who are responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and the day-to-day maintenance of critical network infrastructures across North America and Canada.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of network engineers responsible for the core network across 350+ locations which includes Cisco Switches and Routers, physical Palo Alto firewalls, Palo Alto Prisma Access in the Cloud, Palo Alto Global Protect VPN, LAN/WAN, SD-WAN environment connecting all locations and multiple data centers using VeloCloud appliances, cloud-based Ubiquity wireless environment, and network attached video surveillance systems at each location.
Respond to and address outages and escalations and provide status updates on each.
Manage day-to-day activities, prioritizing workloads across the team; overseeing daily and weekly activities.
Ensure SolarWinds is properly monitoring and alerting on all network devices across the enterprise.
Ensures that the responsibilities, and accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood.
Report department metrics and statistics to Director of Infrastructure and Operations on a weekly basis.
Act as a sounding board for the team when they are providing expert level troubleshooting trying to quickly identify and resolve network related incidents across 300+ offices.
Have the ability to collaborate with IT and business counterparts to assist and support them with network infrastructure projects, initiatives, and needs.
Make recommendations to senior management on network infrastructure modifications and version upgrades while controlling costs and scaling for future growth.
Be available off hours as needs may arise.
And other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of experience managing a Network team.
3 to 6 years of experience managing vendors.
3 to 5 years of previous experience implementing and managing a large Cisco network which includes switches, routers, and firewalls.
Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience implementing and managing VeloCloud SD-WAN appliances.
Thorough understanding of SD-WAN technology.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience with Palo Alto firewalls and security devices.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience with Palo Alto Prisma Access in the Cloud
Experience managing team responsible for Palo Alto Global Protect VPN
Strong familiarity with Cisco Nexus & Catalyst switches.
Experience with SolarWinds network management and monitoring required.
Experience with VLAN segmentation.
Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate teams to accomplish goals within tight time frames and manage IT projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence others and communicate IT concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
Ability to work independently and skilled in exercising a high degree of initiative, independent judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
