The Senior Engineer II is responsible for performing mastery level design and analysis work as directed to support various field and fabrication offices. The Senior Engineer will be part of a project team from inception through construction completion.

Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products.
Assists upper-level management or staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
Coordinates work with all staff necessary to complete assignments.
Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
Prepares proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.
Receives supervision and guidance related to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments.
Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills.
Represents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.
Performs other related duties, as directed.
Qualifications
BS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is desirable
8+ years related engineering experience
Strong understanding of systems and mechanical and/or chemical engineering practices and processes
Demonstrated experience in the design of process piping, tanking, blending, and chemical processes
Demonstrated experience developing process parameters including mass flow, heat transfer, material balance capacities and rates
Knowledge of API standards, recommended practices and design experience in API-620, API-650, API-653, ACI 318, ASCE 7-10, AISC Steel Construction Manual, NBC, NFPA 11 & 30, and ASME Section VIII is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of basic process design and stress analyses including mechanical designs of supports, guides, anchors, hangers strongly preferred.
Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning and start-up standards, documentation, practices, vendor data approvals, etc., strongly preferred.
Experience using standard computer programs for design such as CAESAR, STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, COMPRESS, Inventor, etc., is preferred.
Demonstrated experience identifying key process and system data
Demonstrated experience selecting equipment such as process units and instruments
Demonstrated experience in developing industry specific calculations for systems such as chemical balance, pipe flow rates, compression, maximum intended inventory, over pressure protection
Demonstrated experience with multiple materials within the industry of expertise
Demonstrated experience interfacing with the mechanical, structural and electrical engineers
Demonstrated experience with the management of key design basis documents
Experience with logic diagrams and cause & effect charts for the facility
Strong skill set in understanding PFD's and P&ID's; 3D and 2D routing and modeling; development of isometric drawings and selection for valves is required
Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
