A Mechanical Project Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization in the northeastern Atlanta metro area (Loganville). The Project Engineer will manage the engineering of equipment and components for assigned projects. This role involves developing engineering documents, preparing submittal packages, and ensuring that designs meet project specifications. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and Lead Engineer to ensure project requirements are met on schedule.
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 2+ years of related project management experience, preferably in an OEM environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical specifications, engineering drawings, and P&IDs is essential, as well as strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Candidates with experience with ASME B 31.3 or B 31.5 are desired. Some relocation assistance can be made available for qualified regional candidates.
Responsibilities:
Develop P&IDs based on project scope and specifications
Create and manage bills of materials (BOM) for equipment and components
Prepare and coordinate engineering submittal packages and ensure they meet quality and project requirements
Support and participate in internal project kick-off and status meetings
Ensure project management tracking is up-to-date with tasks and project completion status
Provide engineering support during equipment fabrication and coordinate issue resolution
