Job Description:

The Director of Quality will oversee all aspects of quality control and assurance in our cannabis production facility, ensuring our products meet regulatory and industry standards for safety, purity, and potency. This role demands strong leadership, attention to detail, and expertise in quality management within the cannabis industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Establish and maintain quality control standards for cultivation, processing, and packaging.
  • Design and oversee quality testing protocols to ensure product consistency and compliance.
  • Manage a team of quality assurance professionals, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, supply chain, product development, retail, and cultivation) to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate external audits and inspections by regulatory agencies and third-party certifiers.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to cannabis quality assurance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., biology, chemistry, food science, pharmacology).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably in the cannabis or fresh-cut foods industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Experience developing and implementing quality management systems (QMS) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma) is a plus.
