We are looking for an accomplished Vice President of Medical Affairs to join their executive team in a pivotal new role reporting directly to the CMO. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of all medical affairs activities, as well as ensuring the successful launch and commercialization of groundbreaking therapies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading product launches, particularly in the rare disease space, and will be instrumental in establishing a robust medical affairs infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the medical affairs strategy aligned with corporate goals and objectives. Provide medical and scientific leadership across the organization, ensuring alignment with clinical development and commercial teams.
Team Building: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing medical affairs team. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the department.
Product Launches: Lead medical affairs activities related to the launch of new products, with a focus on rare cardiovascular diseases. Develop and execute medical communication and publication plans to support product launches.
Medical Strategy and Support: Serve as the primary medical expert, providing strategic input on clinical development programs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the generation of robust clinical and real-world evidence.
External Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and patient advocacy groups. Represent the company at scientific conferences, advisory boards, and other external meetings.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure all medical affairs activities comply with regulatory requirements and ethical standards. Oversee the development of medical information and educational materials.
Qualifications:
MD, PhD, or PharmD with extensive experience in medical affairs.
Proven track record of leading successful product launches in the rare disease space, with a preference for cardiovascular expertise.
Demonstrated ability to build and manage a high-performing team.
Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to integrate scientific and commercial perspectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
