We are currently partnered with a successful, growing, commercial- stage biopharma company, in order to identify a Vice President (VP), Global Medical Safety.
The VP, Global Medical Safety will be accountable for providing medical oversight for the pharmacovigilance and drug safety function. They will be responsible for providing strong leadership for the team, working both strategically and operationally, to ensure oversight of all parts of pharmacovigilance and risk management activities. The role will cover all stages of clinical development, as well as post-marketing.
The VP is required to be an MD, MD PhD or MD MPH (or equivalent).
The position is based just outside of Boston, Massachusetts and requires the VP, Medical Safety to work a hybrid model of four days in the office and one from home each week.
Education and experience:
MD, MD PhD or MD MPH (or equivalent).
15+ years experience leading Pharmacovigilance and Drug/Product/Patient Safety within the pharma/biotech industry
Strong previous experience in global roles - management of post-marketing product safety in the US, EU and other regions
Knowledge, understanding and experience of major filings (IND, CTA, NDA, MAA)
Proven leadership experience - building and growing teams, mentoring, challenging
Able to work with Senior Executive Team, and with external stakeholders (KOLs, investors, regulatory bodies)
Able to work in a growing, fast-paced and entrepreneurial business
Biologics and rare disease experience would be beneficial
