Fareva is currently seeking an experienced Direct Materials Procurement Director Americas to join our team.

About the role:
This position is responsible for defining category plans for Americas in line with Business Units and Corporate procurement strategy. The role involves clear leadership in achieving objectives and contributing significantly to establishing category and supplier relationships in the region.
What you'll do:
*Procurement Strategy & Plans:
- Leverage portfolio scale for raw materials and packaging to generate cost and cash savings.
- Support tactical and transformational activities across multiple sites/plants.
- Ensure alignment of corporate procurement strategies with business strategies.
- Develop and retain talent within the Americas Procurement function.
*Lead New Source & Material Introduction:
- Serve as procurement point of contact and develop costs for new customers or product launch support.
- Coordinate within various groups for necessary production or line trials for new suppliers and materials.
- Lead the discontinuation of outgoing material or suppliers.
- Define necessary site contacts with suppliers, construct communication processes.
*Sourcing Site Commodities:
- Implement strategic imperatives for the Procurement function.
- Manage all elements of commodity management for designated spend category.
- Research local market to understand source and material options.
- Work with Technical and R&D to develop and implement optimal strategic sourcing strategies.
*Supplier Performance:
- Interface with strategic and tactical suppliers.
- Monitor and manage continuous improvement, value-added activities, correction action processes, quality improvement efforts, and supplier qualification.
- Work with quality, technical services, and operational groups to determine and aid suppliers with implementing process capability & reliability measures.
Organizational Relationships:
*Internal Contacts:
- Various site functional departments at all levels.
- Interact with stakeholders regarding requirements, specifications, procurement strategy, supplier performance, improvement opportunities, cost management, etc.
*External to Fareva:
- All levels of supplier management.
- Manage supplier performance, negotiate agreements/contracts, develop/implement improvement opportunities, manage cost, uncover market trends, introduce new materials, etc.
Financial/Asset Accountability:
Budget responsibilities jointly with Finance dept include determining with Category Managers and approving annual cost budget for all direct materials spend in Americas.
Supervision:
Supervises all Procurement Managers providing guidance through written performance targets and objectives that are reviewed in regular meetings and annual written evaluations. Daily/weekly interaction will occur in managing suppliers, monitoring commodity-level procurement strategies, setting budget costs, assessing risks, and forecasting marketplace dynamics and supply and price vulnerabilities.
Education and Experience:
Business or Engineering school, with a Chemistry related business discipline.
Current position as Procurement Director/Manager for direct materials.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Cosmetic or FMCG businesses and Strategic sourcing, supplier quality management.
Master's Degree not required but desirable.
Technical Skills Requirements:
Good understanding, training, and experience of negotiation, using quality assurance and control methods.
Experience working with suppliers towards process and continuous improvement and implementing solutions to increase levels of supplier quality/reliability and reducing costs.
Strong packaging and raw materials category, project management, and communication skills are desired, with the ability to work effectively across multiple functional disciplines and with people in various geographies and cultures.
