Job Title: Assistant Manager

About You: Ideal candidates have some experience working in a licensed cannabis dispensary, a love of customer care, and the drive to be a part of a start up company! Experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train and coach any new individual who is willing to put their best effort and pursue their passion for cannabis. This is a full time (40 hour per week +) position.

The Role: As Assistant Manager of Mood Shine, Chicago Heights you will play a crucial role in the opening of our first dispensary location in Illinois. We are a cannabis start-up with an experienced operator at the helm. With a strong focus on training and skill development you will grow professionally while helping to launch a brand-new retail brand.

As the Assistant Manager, you are responsible for assisting in the leadership and management of all day-to-day operations of the dispensary. As Assistant Manager, you shall provide support in hiring, building effective schedules, standardizing operating procedures, participating in training, and assisting in the build-out of other business fundamentals. Once operational, the Assistant

Manager shall be responsible for ensuring compliant, profitable, and efficient operation of the dispensary, inventory management, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and maintaining an organized, safe and clean environment.

With the support of the CEO and general manager, the assistant manager will support dispensary daily operations by ensuring compliance to all company policies, procedures, state and local laws, assisting in state inspections or audits, assisting in managing employee relations issues, participating in staffing and recruiting efforts, contributing to community partnership efforts, performing store opening and closing procedures, and solving problems for customers such as product complaints.

Experience leading and motivating a team is preferred, but not required. As the leader, you will coach, develop and inspire staff, as well as make recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, termination or advancement of employees to ultimately deliver the highest level of customer experience. Additionally, the General Manager will advise and assist in creating marketing and sales promotions.

The Assistant Manager is a leadership position and must possess strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and must work well with others.

Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of dispensary or retail management experience
  • Must possess a high level of integrity and lead by example
  • Must possess a can-do attitude and be able to work with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and submit personal information for state licensing and fingerprinting.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess valid driver's license or state ID
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
  • Move inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds independently
  • Remain in a stationary position, if required, to meet the needs of the business

Ideal Candidates:
  • Previous dispensary work experience preferred
  • Enjoy consulting with customers, listening to their needs, and responding appropriately
  • Have some experience leading a team and driving a profitable business
  • Have a knowledge of cannabis strains, products, and consumption methods preferred
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
  • Have a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Are flexible and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Have customer service experience; preference for candidates with specialty, customer-facing retail experience
