Our client, one of the top insurance firms in the United States is hiring a Software Engineer to join their IT Modernization team that is designing, developing, and maintaining software applications using the Guidewire Insurance Suite platform. This role requires a strong understanding of Cloud continuous integration and deployment skills and Guidewire product knowledge.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires employees to be in the office 4 days per week in Plano, TX.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions across many technologies to tie together existing systems and tools.
Lead code/design reviews with team to ensure smooth daily operations and accurate planning.
Develop complex algorithms to solve business needs.
Investigates and resolves complex application and system technical problems and production issues by directing troubleshooting of end-to-end solutions.
Mentors engineers, coaches engineers on design, development, and maintenance of systems; Reviews teammates' code.
Influence architecture, quality standards and understand, identify, measure across entire solution.
Identify system performance issues and optimize solution.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What You Have
Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement can be used in lieu of a degree.
3 years of software development experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding within a specific discipline(s)/technology(s).
4 years of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle to include leading code/design reviews.
Basic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java or GOSU
CI/CD development experience
What Sets You Apart
Experience with Guidewire Cloud Implementation experience from the Inception to Implementation phases
Hands-on knowledge of Guidewire Cloud platform, including Product Model configuration, Entity, Batch process, REST, Web services Integrations, PCF, Gosu Scripts, and Rules.
Able to develop solutions by using Guidewire PolicyCenter out-of-box services, in-house developed APIs, and third-party vendor APIs.
Experience with one or more of these technologies: Java, Kafka, Spring, Redis, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
Able to articulate complex technology subjects to IT and business audiences at all organizational levels.
