What you'll do as the Buyer:
Manage assigned raw material inventories based on defined goals using established inventory control systems and tools
Monitor and maintain minimal inventories of excess and obsolete materials according to the defined plan
Follow all facility safety rules and procedures
Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives for cost savings improvements through waste elimination
Maintain and follow proper compliance and quality system requirements
Review production schedule and material requirements regularly with the Manufacturing Planner
Schedule materials and sub-contractors based on requirements of the production schedule and forecast, and work with each vendor to assure adequate supplies are on hand to support the plan
Manage inventory and schedule orders using Kanban and quantity contracts
Manage vendor lead-time, transit time, and flexibility of vendor schedule
Resolve invoicing and receiving discrepancies
What you'll bring to the Buyer role:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related discipline preferred
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including working knowledge of SAP
Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers and suppliers
Must be proficient at negotiating and have analytical skills
Must be highly organized and able to work with little to no supervision
Ability to perform basic mathematic functions
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
