An innovative, expanding, international company rooted in the Annapolis/Kent Island area of Maryland is looking for an organized self-starter for their Engineering Manager opening. This position will report directly to the Technical Operations Manager.
Responsibilities: • Leads and coordinates the Engineering Department consisting of Project, Production, and Controls Engineering. • Facilitates communication among internal and external customers ensuring specifications, budgets and deadlines are clearly understood. • Works with and coaches project engineering to create timelines and cost projections, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines and budgets. • Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy. • Establishes, implements and maintains administrative policies and procedures. • Manages team's inputs to ERP to ensure designs are sufficient for processing. • Plans and executes strategies for completing projects on time with accuracy. • Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency. • Educates and trains new employees in the Engineering Department and provides department overview during the Onboarding of all employees. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience: • College degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study required • 5-10 years total related industry experience with demonstration of managerial skillset preferred • 5 years of Engineering Management experience preferred • Experience with maintaining technical inputs for ETO (engineered to order) products preferred • Demonstrates a clear understanding of product data management through CAD systems required • Experience in an ISO 9001 environment preferred • Experience with engineering inputs to ERP required • Able to work both independently and as part of a team • Strong time management and decision-making skills • Proactive: able to anticipate issues and provide solutions • Maintains a high level of responsibility and accountability • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems. • Strong communication and organizational skills
