LHH is seeking a Quality Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with an aerospace and defense manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established organization that is known for consistently achieving high standards of excellence and maintaining excellent performance ratings with high profile customers. If selected for this role, you would lead a team of quality professionals, run the quality management system, and oversee quality assurance, new part production, and supplier development in a team-oriented work environment. Compensation ranges from $100,000-130,000 plus bonus and includes affordable insurance program options, 401K match, and generous PTO and holiday offerings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the quality engineering team, oversee the QMS, and ensure quality assurance objectives are being met
Create and execute the strategic vision of the department, develop plans for improvement, and then conduct sufficient follow up on the execution of those plans
Maintain compliance and adherence to AS9100 and ISO9001 as well as National and International Standards and Legislation
Develop and implement quality control methodologies to enhance the production process.
Create, maintain, and update test plans and an audit tracking system with coinciding audit schedule
When necessary, assist the quality team with quality audits, projects, and/or special assignments
Conduct final inspection reviews of products and test engineering systems for accuracy and log all errors
Follow the ASQ Code of Ethics
Solve problems and conduct root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurrence of non-conformance issues
Inspect facilities periodically to identify problems and create improvement plans so work can be properly allocated
Monitor, communicate, and improve KPI's, including Supplier OTD (Past due), DPPM and waste
Update blueprints, designs, drawings, and schematics for process improvements, compliance, and simplification
Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards
Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain loss prevention programs to reduce and control workplace injuries and hazards
Protect employees, customers, and the environment by identifying and correcting potentially hazardous situations or business practices
Recommend changes to protect workers and work to educate them on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs
Maintain Health and Safety policies, ensuring compliance for all EHS standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or a related field) is required
Must have a minimum of 5+ years of quality engineering experience within the aerospace and/or defense industry
Must have a minimum of 5 years of management experience leading a team of quality professionals within a manufacturing environment
Must have experience with AS9100
Must have experience with new part development and first article inspections
Must have knowledge of quality standards and health & safety practices and regulations
Preference toward candidates with certifications as a Lead Auditor, CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and/or CQA (Quality Auditor)
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, designs, drawings, and schematics
Ideal candidates will possess understanding of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing strategies
Must be a positive leader with strong written and verbal communication skills
