Kelly® Engineering is seeking an Applications Engineer III with vacuum pump/systems experience for a direct hire position for their machinery manufacturing client in Virginia Beach, VA.
The primary objective of the Applications Engineer III is to develop technical solutions for clients based on the information provided by the sales team, and process and application knowledge.
For this solution, the Applications Engineer III will:
Create a solution, calculate the cost, create a plan to determine the delivery time, and create the technical description for the quotation.
For the project execution: Hand over the order to the project management team for execution and act as the design process owner.
Create specific design documents to define and facilitate an understanding of the requirements for the design execution teams such as a P&ID, preliminary Bill of Material, and control philosophy on proposals.
During the execution phase, may be tasked with completing final specification of required system components that meet the solution requirements in keeping with material cost estimates and timeline determined in the proposal phase.
Conduct general design and detailed design review of project documents and drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements and document acceptance or mark-up and return any discrepancies to the designer for corrective action.
Apply good engineering practices in specifying and designing systems to solve basic vacuum and over-pressure applications while working with Internal System teams
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Mechanical or Chemical engineering
5 to 7 years of experience in vacuum pump/systems
Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
Current and valid driver's license
Ability to pass drug screen and background check
Travel
Approximately 10%
