LaSalle Network has partnered with a well-established Insurance Brokerage firm that's based in Chicago, IL, who's in need of a well-rounded, provider agnostic, Network Engineer with a background in M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) to join their team and lead the technical efforts from a networking standpoint, pertaining to M&A initiatives. This role is a contract opportunity with the potential to an FTE and is operating under a remote work model. Important note: we cannot support c2c employment for this search.
The Network Engineer will lead the design, development, implementation and migration of IT networks and infrastructure acquired through Mergers & Acquisitions. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the stability, security and regulatory compliance of local area networks, wide area networks and other network infrastructure. The Network Engineer will collaborate closely with various teams to streamline IT infrastructure, enhance network performance and deliver integrated services across the organization.
Network EngineerResponsibilities:
Coordinate with service providers for network installation, maintenance, upgrades, migrations, repairs and outage resolutions
Develop and implement custom scripts to automate manual tasks and streamline network operations
Provide regular project updates to project sponsors, stakeholders and upper management
Collaborate with IT team members and business partners to deliver projects and support day-to-day operations
Research and propose solutions to enhance IT capabilities and drive business growth
Manage multiple projects and day-to-day operations simultaneously
Mentor and assist other team members in network engineering tasks
Network EngineerRequirements:
5+ years of experience in managing enterprise-level networks
Expertise in Enterprise Networking, including LAN, WAN, Data Center, Wireless and Cloud Networking
Proficiency in Dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP and iBGP
Advanced knowledge of Data Center concepts like VRF, VSS, VPC and NetFlow
Strong skills in network troubleshooting, packet capture, analysis and firmware upgrades
Experience with large-scale networks and network platforms
Advanced understanding of network analysis, troubleshooting and various protocols and technologies
Familiarity with QoS, Multicast, BGP, IPSEC & VPNs, Telemetry, packet capture and analysis
Strong time management and prioritization skills
CCNP, ACE-L3, or PCNSA Certification preferred
Knowledge of cloud VPC, Direct Connect, cloud security and virtualized firewalls a plus
Understanding of integrations in data and systems preferred
Familiarity with cloud solutions like Azure and AWS preferred
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
