As a Senior Battery Development Engineer, you will be specializing in pouch cell fabrication. As part of the team, you'll lead the small-scale pilot production of pouch cells.
? Position Summary:
As a Senior Battery Engineer, you will play a crucial role in refining lithium-ion pouch cells and associated electrodes. Collaborating closely with R&D and Product teams, your responsibilities will include evaluating new cell electrodes, optimizing designs for performance and cost, leading lab-scale trials, supporting failure analysis, maintaining performance models, contributing to standard cell format design, and analyzing battery cell performance trends.
? Key Responsibilities:
Optimization and design of pouch cells, focusing on performance aspects, safety and cost.
Refinement and development of the manufacturing process for pouch cells, (electrode coating, cell assembly and sealing).
Identification and specification for pouch cell production, evaluating cell performance and reliability through test protocols.
Collaboration with stakeholders and cross-disciplinary teams to integrate pouch cells into end products, ensuring all project goals are met.
? Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Masters or Ph.D. preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in battery engineering, focusing on pouch cell fabrication.
Comprehensive understanding of pouch cell design principles, electrode formulation and manufacturing processes.
High-level of proficiency in electrode coating, cell assembly, and sealing techniques.
Previous experience with battery fabrication equipment and instrumentation.
