Job Description:

Summary

The Master Data Specialist is part of a team responsible for defining, managing, and ensuring compliance of corporate master data, including business partners (customers and suppliers) and product data. The role will be a liaison between all internal business units, as well as external data pool providers, customers, and suppliers, to drive corporate master data ownership and governance. The position will guide and create data definitions, standards, and processes; identify gaps and address master data issues; develop improvement processes & strategies; create tools and templates; provide company-wide training related to master data initiatives; work with IT and the business units to implement MDM initiatives in systems and applications; provide direction and monitoring of master data initiatives and deliverables.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create strategies, architectures, templates, and tools to manage corporate master data.
  • Provide guidance and support of master data conversion efforts for system implementations, acquisitions, continuous improvement, and enrichment.
  • Develop policies, definitions, standards and processes for corporate master data strategies, initiatives, and governance, including new setups and change management.
  • Understand and manage compliance to policies, definitions and standards related to corporate master data as defined by internal and external customers, business requirements, as well as, industry, regulatory and global agencies.
  • Drive organizational change and adoption of corporate master data, governance, and strategies.
  • Analyze, monitor, and audit master data compliance, track issues or areas of non-compliance and drive corrective action.
  • Collaborate with business units, business intelligence and IT functional and technical team members to implement corporate master data initiatives and business requirements.
  • Implement initiatives to further enhance/enrich accuracy and completeness of corporate master data.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills including relationship-building and collaboration skills with clear ability to influence, gain buy-in and negotiate with a diverse group of key business partners/stakeholders including senior management.
  • Create documentation and standard operating procedures for master data related processes.
  • Meet internal and external customer data requirements and requests by agreed upon timelines.
  • Manage, assist, and support the PIM Analyst position for item setup, maintenance, and Global Data Synchronization (GDSN) initiatives ensuring adherence to GS1 Standards, GTIN allocation & maintenance standards and packaging measurement standards.
  • Create, enter, maintain, and manage corporate master data in enterprise systems including PIM, ERP and other systems as identified.
  • Assist with managing the data governance committee and executing action items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Minimum of five years of professional work experience, with at least two years in a data management capacity.
  • Detail oriented, results driven, and can navigate in a quickly changing and high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with data management tools (Precisely EnterWorks is preferred, but others acceptable as well).
  • Willingness and ability to be an Admin/Super User for internal PIM solution and other tools/systems as identified.
  • Good communicator and comfortable working with senior leadership.
  • Basic understanding of overall supply chain and end-to-end impact of data accuracy & completeness.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and manage multiple task assignments.
  • Manage processes and procedures.
  • Process flow and mapping not required but a plus.
  • Ability to drive decision making through a consensus building approach.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
