Job Description:

BuildStrong Academy of Colorado is a nonprofit training organization created to solve the construction industry's need for motivated and skilled workers. We provide hands-on education and instruction, job placement, and mentoring for youth and adults as they build careers in construction. We are seeking a full-time Construction Educator and Trainer to join our talented team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering in-person carpentry instruction using our curriculum. This position requires knowledge of the construction industry and practices, the ability to deliver engaging instruction, and the ability to communicate fluently in multiple mediums and build strong relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

? Provide supervision and instruction for PACT CORE Construction Bootcamp Training program (Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm)

? Responsible for student attendance, student retention, and student success; Work with Academy Director and Student Recruiter to develop methods to improve student retention and success

? Follow structured lesson plans, provide clear objectives for all students, and align with HBI program policies

? Communicate complex construction concepts in a clear and concise manner and adapt your communication style to meet the needs of diverse learners, ensuring that all students can understand and apply the information being taught

? Teach students who may have varying levels of prior knowledge or face unique challenges and provide support, encouragement, and personalized guidance to help students succeed

? Cultivate a collaborative learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, and maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere

? Motivate students and create an engaging and enjoyable learning experience

? Consistently wear appropriate PPE and ensure all students do the same; set a strong personal example of safety

? Actively promote a culture of safety among students; recognize and reward safe practices and address any safety concerns with urgency

? Implement various assessment methods for students, such as quizzes, exams, projects, and hands-on evaluations

? Provide constructive feedback and record assignment grades in a timely manner

? Utilize available teaching resources efficiently; Manage equipment, materials, and supplies and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure availability, organization, and maintenance of workshop space and resources necessary for instructional activities

? Effectively use relevant technology and instructional tools such as our Learning Management System (LMS), multimedia resources, online collaboration platforms, and construction-related software applications

? Opportunity to provide more advanced carpentry or electrical instruction if qualified

? Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

? High school diploma or GED required, plus a minimum of five years' related construction field experience

? Electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC experience beneficial

? Strong computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook)

? Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers

? Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Physical Requirements:

? Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards

? Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

? Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

? Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly

Annual Rate: $60,000 to $70,000, depending on experience
