About the job

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in development and construction projects and is the key liaison between vendors, architects, contractors, and clients.

Core Competencies Required
  • Ability to read and understand project drawings and specifications (all disciplines)
  • General understanding of entire development and construction process from start to finish
  • Prior experience working for or directly with commercial general contractor
  • General understanding of contract format and structure
  • General understanding of commercial real estate lease structures and various lease work letter requirements
  • Prior procurement experience

• Willingness to listen and learn from the process in place.
• Creative problem solver with ability to see the next steps and take action to move projects forward.

Day to Day
  • Organize, plan, and keep open communication between various project stakeholders and clients
  • Help with procurement and contracts
  • Invoice approvals and cost tracking
  • Help build project schedules and track progress and conduct detailed coordination meetings
  • Conduct site visits with an eye for identifying potential issues before they arise

About the Work

The firm is responsible for helping our clients successfully develop commercial construction projects ranging from office, R&D, laboratory, and high-end retail by offering owner's representation and project management services. We have many repeat clients and project scope ranges from tenant improvement and reposition of existing assets, acquisition and disposition services, and ground-up development. The role of assistant project manager will be to support the senior project manager in all required project tasks which will range from conducting site visits, organizing and managing vendor meetings, reviewing drawings, creating schedules, and managing project finances.
