Addison Group is a Chicago-based staffing and consulting firm with a nationwide presence that is currently looking to grow the IT Infrastructure team with a Senior Azure Architect position based in the downtown Chicago office. In this role, you will work on elevating our core infrastructure and increasing the capability and maturity of IT Operations. The Azure Architect will act as a trusted subject-matter expert in the decision making, architecture, implementation and support of projects and automated Infrastructure solutions that support business efficiency, growth, stability, and scalability.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provides technical leadership, hands-on implementation skills, and extensive troubleshooting skills for existing and future IT infrastructure, supporting a professional, staffing, and technology services business
Designing/Developing, implementing, and supporting the comprehensive system architectures for Azure cloud-based solutions, including compute, storage, identity and endpoint management, and cloud applications
Analyze and optimize our Microsoft 365 environment for Azure Active Directory, Office, Teams, SharePoint, Email, Calendar, VOIP and Collaboration, DevOps, and our Azure Cloud environment
Lead and conduct Microsoft tenant and domain migrations and consolidations across our various business units into a common, scalable platform
Standardize and maintain endpoint management across the enterprise
Architect and maintain integration solutions with SaaS applications and VOIP
Developing automation workflows to streamline system provisioning, configuration management, and scaling in both on-premises and Azure environments.
Develop and implement monitoring strategies and tools for critical and key infrastructure components.
Develop and implement business continuity/disaster recover strategy, policy, and plan.
Evaluate future technologies against organizational requirements (e.g., hybrid, on-premises, and cloud solutions).
Communicate technical requirements and risk effectively with audience-appropriate messaging.
Apply technical knowledge and experience to assess new technologies and innovations to develop recommendations.
Create and maintain architecture diagrams, implementation, and acquisition runbooks and playbooks, and documentation of system infrastructure.
Partner with Infosec, Application Development, and Desktop Support on the design, implementation, and support of our centralized identity and access management solution.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience working within Information Technology., with a focus on network infrastructure, and cloud computing
7+ years operational engineering or support experience providing solutions and support in a Windows, and/or Azure cloud environment.
2+ years of experience with domain and/or tenant migrations
5+ years of experience with Service Management tools and processes.
Strong PowerShell scripting experience.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to explain technical matters in an understandable manner.
Ability to present complex, technical ideas, and business impact/value in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences.
Time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload among planned and unplanned tasks.
Azure Cloud Certifications (AZ 304 - formerly AZ 301)
