A client is seeking a lab technician in the Livingston, NJ area. The ideal candidate will have at least one year experience (academic or industry) working in a lab environment. They will be on a team of about 15 other technicians. This team is responsible for genetic testing of gene disorders. This individual will be responsible for logging and tracking patient samples for both genomics carrier screening and molecular lab single gene samples, preparing samples for testing by extracting and purifying sample DNA, participating in research projects on alternative molecular approaches of gene testing and gene expression analysis such as Karyomapping, performing SNP based assay, and documenting results.
Other tasks include coordination, communication and collaboration with other members of the team. The shift is Tuesday-Saturday shift (10-6:30pm).
