We are seeking a dynamic Sales Trade Analyst to join our team - this position offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for sales analytics and a keen eye for detail - here are major responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyze sales data, trade spend, and market trends to provide insights and recommendations to the sales and marketing teams.
  • Develop and maintain regular sales reports and dashboards to track performance against key metrics.
  • Conduct post-promotion analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of trade promotions and identify opportunities for improvement.

Trade Spend Optimization:
  • Monitor and analyze trade spending to ensure it aligns with budgetary constraints and delivers a positive return on investment.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize trade spend and improve promotional effectiveness.
  • Support the development of trade spend forecasts and budget allocations.

Sales Support:
  • Collaborate with sales teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support customer meetings and negotiations.
  • Assist in the development of sales presentations and materials using data insights and analysis.
  • Track and report on key sales initiatives and promotional activities.

Market and Competitor Analysis:
  • Conduct market analysis to understand market dynamics, competitive landscape, and consumer trends.
  • Provide insights on competitor activities and market opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with marketing, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on sales strategies and trade marketing initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide data insights and support business planning.

Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and overall effectiveness of trade analytics.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and analytical tools to continuously improve the analytics function.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS in business, finance, marketing or related field; advanced degree preferred

Minimum 3 years of sales analytics, trade marketing or a related role within the food CPG industry

Proven track record of analyzing sales data and providing actionable insights to drive business performance.

SKILLS:

Strong analytical with ability to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful business insights.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and software - such as Excel, SQL, and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to convey insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

KNOWLEDGE:

Deep understanding of the food CPG industry, including market dynamics, trade marketing, and sales processes.

Familiarity with syndicated data sources (e.g. SPINS) and trade promotion management systems (e.g. Vividly, SAP).
