Employment Solutions is partnering with an established local company to hire a Manufacturing Supervisor to work onsitein Endicott, NY. This is a direct hire position with full benefits!
We're looking for an Manufacturing Supervisor with experience in team building, scheduling, 5S, lean manufacturing, inventory control. You'll oversee and supervise the day-to-day production environment, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
This company manufactures highly engineered products and mission-critical components for the Aerospace, Defense, Transportation and other industries.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Planning and Scheduling: priorities based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity. Coordinate with production planners, materials managers
Team Leadership and Management: Supervise a team of production workers, operators, and technicians. Ensure team members understand their responsibilities, and performance expectations. Foster a positive work environment
Quality Assurance and Control: Ensure products meet quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. Implement quality control measures, inspection procedures, and process controls to monitor and maintain product quality throughout the production process
Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Conduct safety inspections, audits, and training
Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Implement lean manufacturing principles, process improvements, and best practices to optimize workflow, minimize waste, and maximize resource utilization.
Equipment Maintenance and Reliability: Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance, work closely with maintenance technicians and engineers to address equipment issues.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods. Coordinate with materials management and procurement teams
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track production metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and performance targets. Analyze production data, identify trends, and report performance to senior management. Implement corrective actions as needed.
Training and Development
MUST HAVES:
Education: Prefer post-secondary education; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or business administration.
Experience: Several years of experience in manufacturing or production, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, procedures, and best practices. Processes include dip and vacuum braze, chemical clean, paint, finishing, grinding, and shipping.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership and management abilities, including the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team of production workers. Effective communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills are essential.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions or process improvements to optimize production efficiency and quality.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for employees. The ability to enforce safety standards, conduct safety training, and respond to safety incidents is important.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in applications such as Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems (e.g., ERP, MES) for production planning, scheduling, reporting, and data analysis.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality assurance, maintenance, and supply chain.
Must be able to lift 10-20 pounds, and up to 50 pounds periodically. Must be able sit, stand or walk for up to 8 hours
Provide value to our customers by using Lean tools and concepts, seeing processes from end to end and eliminate the root cause of problems.
