Job Summary:

Reporting to the CFO of BAUER Foundation Corp, the Information Technology Hub Generalist - North America will assist with managing the company's information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support service for the US and Canada. The incumbent's main role will be to manage and work collaboratively with other members of their team and with the BAUER Network and Systems Team. With a dotted line reporting structure to the IT Department of Bauer Group in Germany, this role will require travel within North America and international, in order to carry out responsibilities and engage with key stakeholders within the BAUER Group.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Support users with first level front end support of company's IT infrastructure.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic applications for offsite and international end users.
  • Act as backup support for other IT Hub Generalists e.g. in the event of unexpected absences, up to and including providing urgent on-site response, for critical IT issues.
  • Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.
  • Leads the development and implementation processes for the organizations IT systems and department.
  • Serve as the direct local contact for the North American subsidiaries.
  • Installation and configuration of workstations, notebooks, and common enterprise software.
  • Troubleshoots basic network connectivity issues of end point devices.
  • Maintenance and enrollment of IP telephones.
  • Provide documentation for all troubleshooting efforts, escalations, and resolutions, in company's portal ticketing system.
  • Creates and maintains training material, documentation, and manuals.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in information technology, alerting senior staff of the effects widespread software and hardware revisions, changes, and discontinuation will have on the organizations systems and operations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of industry standard antivirus and backup software.
  • Knowledge of user / desktop management and Lifecycle Management Systems.
  • Evidence of hardware troubleshooting skills, including both desktop and server hardware.
  • Evidence of software troubleshooting skills, including experience of Windows 10 and Windows.
  • Windows Server technology.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn the software and applications used in the organization and the industry.
  • Thorough understanding of technology, software, and hardware.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations, solve problems, and develop new skills.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related IT field, required.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud service provision, notably Office 365 identity management.
  • Sound knowledge of IT principles, including the ability to map new processes.
  • A proven track record of working in a relevant technology area.
  • Experience of working in IT support and Network Administration.
  • Experience of networking hardware & software handling, configuration, and management.
  • Network configuration & troubleshooting experience.
  • Understanding of firewalls and other security technology.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at times.
