The Opportunity

The Firmware Engineer develops integrated electronics for new and existing products, meeting or exceeding company production and quality standards, and meeting customer design, function, and cost requirements. This team member is highly skilled in planning and organization, critical thinking, decision making, and influencing others at Server Products to understand and satisfy the required engineering needs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new and update existing firmware for PCBAs that can incorporate motors, sensors, and wireless
  • Research and propose PCBA components during the design phase for availability, cost, and redundancy
  • Review and advise on PCBA layout and component footprint
  • Optimize firmware for compatibility and modularity (i.e.: functionality, UI look and feel, power constraints, etc.)
  • Effectively take the lead role in FW product development projects and support any electrical engineering development projects
  • Create revision-controlled documentation, per project, including but not limited to flow charts, testing protocols, and FW depository
  • Testing firmware releases, debugging, and maintaining stable firmware
  • Develop/execute detailed test plans for FW and other electronic components and assemblies within the scope of the project

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering related field or equivalent education/experience
  • Proficient in coding using C++, Python, and Linux operating system
  • Hands-on experience in wireless design (i.e.: WIFI, Bluetooth), motor circuits, and sensor technology)
  • Knowledge of electrical design of PCBAs and assembly of integrated systems
