We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join Kirk Key, which is part of the Sentric Safety Group.

Position Summary:

Responsible for customer facing activities in the pre-sales scoping process while combining technical knowledge to lead solutioning for custom designed products and services. Collaborate and bridge the gap between customers, sales, sales operations, and other internal departments to ensure customer needs and requirements are fully met.

Essential Duties: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Interface with customers, identify requirements and needs to develop differentiated solutions.
• Collaborate with sales to provide technical support, secure design wins, and drive revenue growth.
• Create Interlock scheme narratives based on customer one-line drawings and description of application workflow.
• Prepare and design customer solutions based on application requirements using standard and/or custom products.
• Provide technical expertise and support by phone to customers for applications troubleshooting and other issues that arise.
• Perform on and off-site customer consultation when requested.
• Present concepts to customers and/or sales channels in support of pre-sales activities.
• Support quoting activities with product configurations, cost analysis, and specification review.
• Communicate and work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure that customer requirements are fully met.
• Assist in project management ensuring timely follow-up and follow through on all assigned tasks & projects. Tracks unresolved open customer technical issues.
• Creation of associated bill of materials for schemes and customer specials.
• Travel to customers' sites as needed; up to 25-40% travel.

Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering discipline required. 2-4 years' experience in application solutions. Prior experience in a technical role with customer interaction required.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Other Skills and Abilities:
• Customer focus, interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills, ability to communicate at all levels within and outside the company.
• Proficient in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and 2D CAD Software (Draftsight).
• Ability to apply an analytical and innovative approach to problem solving.
• Responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment.
