Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Leads and directs Inventory Control and Inbound Operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The incumbent may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity:

  • Executes business processes and service standards to deliver efficient and effective inventory management, product receipt, product put away and product storage.
  • Gives guidance and direction through subordinate associates to achieve service levels and productivity goals.
  • Utilizes inventory tools for tracking & analysis, auditing, and reporting.
  • Accountable for standards, metrics and procedures that maximize inventory management efficiencies.
  • Executes policies for customer order allocation to DC's both domestic and Mexico.
  • Responsible for order allocation and selection.
  • Exec operational procedures for Inventory Control and Inbound Operations.
  • Monitors storage requirements to meet storage needs for Princess House inventory.
  • Collaborates with home office cross-functional department to ensure coordination of DC activities.
  • Provides suggestions for procedures to improve accuracy and efficiencies of areas of responsibility.
  • Operates forklift truck and hand truck as needed to perform duties.
  • Must be able to drive switcher to move trailers as needed.
  • Must be able to drive the box truck as needed.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Under direction where definite objectives are established, plans and arranges a significant portion of own work, referring only unusual cases to supervisor or others.

EDUCATION, TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree; 3+ years of supervisory/managerial experience in functional areas of responsibility.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, and/or LICENSES:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, managers, clients, vendors and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS and/or PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level associated with this environment is usually moderate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (If Applicable):

Manages and directs the activities of 12 subordinates in the overall operation of the Receiving department. This includes an Inventory Control Clerk, a Receiving Clerk, and two Lead Receiving People. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
