Job Description:

As the Army's primary integrator of C5ISR technologies and systems, the U.S. Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center conducts Research and Development, or R&D, across a wide variety of capability areas that support all of the Army's Modernization priorities. These include cyberspace operations, electronic warfare, intelligence, data analysis and fusion, tactical network design, wireless communications, radar, sensors, electro-optics, mission command applications, autonomy and machine learning, power and energy, modeling and simulation, counter-IED, minefield detection/defeat and assured positioning, navigation and timing. It is through employment of a dedicated and superior workforce, world class facilities and global partnerships that the C5ISR Center delivers needed capabilities to our Warfighters.

We are looking for an experienced engineer to serve as a Team Leader (TL) in the areas of wireless communications, electromagnetic interference and compatibility (EMI/EMC).

Responsibilities:
  • Proficient in research and development (R&D) or engineering support to customer projects associated with the modernization and integration of wireless communications systems. This includes ensuring optimal performance within the intended electromagnetic environment.
  • Support various integration efforts to include dismounted, tactical and non-tactical ground mobile, and aerial platforms.
  • Support the development of advanced radio frequency communication systems, assessing their performance in harsh and challenging environments and working towards development of electronic protection and interference mitigation options.
  • Serves as the technical lead for and execute tasks associated with individually assigned customer projects and/or R&D mission efforts.
  • Lead the team in the execution of multiple projects and efforts assigned to team members assuring technical quality.
  • Provide tasking, direction, and oversight to a diverse multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure that both the Branch Chief (BC) and the division chief, as well as those higher up in the chain of command, are kept informed about the status of the program(s) or project(s).
  • Provide support to the Branch Chief (BC) as required, including identifying business opportunities and acting with delegated authority when assuming the Branch Chief's role.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (ABET accredited) program, or a closely related discipline
  • Senior level experience with testing and solution development around communication systems
  • Experience should include strong understanding of radio frequency, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and electronic protection
  • Analyzing engineering data for use in program/project improvement and/or troubleshooting
  • Previous experience leading an engineering program or project is desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a TS/SCI security clearance or access for the duration of employment
