Quality Manufacturing Engineer

Kelly Engineering is currently recruiting for Quality Manufacturing Engineers to join the industry's best in automotive and battery manufacturing and play a pivotal role in launching a state-of-the-art facility from the ground up.

Position Overview:

As a Quality Manufacturing Engineer, you will embark on a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a key member of the start-up team. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of products. You will have the chance to shape the future of the organization and make a lasting mark on the industry.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Review gate safety and reliability assessments in advance.
  • Respond to the requirements of marketing and cell development; RFQ assessment, including analyzing test conditions, conducting tests, and reporting test results.
  • Conduct special and urgent tests requested by major customers.
  • Review and approve results of safety, performance, and reliability tests in the gate evaluation process.
  • Conduct regular tests of shipment safety, including the evaluation of a complete range of manufacturing instruments and reporting test results.
  • Conduct mass production reliability tests.
  • Conduct test product 4M changes.
  • Set up and maintain the Battery Quality Management System (B_QMS) in real-time.
  • Establish test standards by item, register revised versions, and analyze the measurement system (MSA).
  • Plan, drive, and coordinate certification initiatives.
  • Respond to post-assessment in UL WTDP, TUV, and UN certification.
  • Respond to S-mark cell certification for ESS in Japan, UL Japan, UL Korea, TUV Rhineland, UL1642, and UK 1973 for xEV and ESS in North America, UL Korea, ULAG, and domestic certification (Korea Battery Industry Association KBIA).
  • Conduct UN transportation testing and publish test reports.
  • Manage assets and maintain instruments, including evaluation instrument maintenance/check logs and standard operating procedures of evaluation instruments.
  • Review the specification of evaluation instruments and order new instruments.
  • Plan and implement monthly calibration.
  • Manage and monitor the environment of the quality evaluation building in light of 3R and 5S principles.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis, including the analysis of near-miss accidents, compliance, and material safety data.
  • Manage the safety and security of the quality evaluation building, including IT and facility management.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Material, Electrical, Electronic, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience developing and managing quality systems.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis and drive change back to the production departments.
  • Strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System.
  • Ability to execute to achieve results while organizing and managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary).
  • Ability to support any shift in a 7-day work pattern.
  • Flexibility for significant travel during the initial plant start-up phase.
