Role Description
Zoetis seeks an experienced, proven Finance leader to join the team at their newest manufacturing site in the Biologics network located in Lithia Springs, GA, near Atlanta. The company recently purchased this building and over the next 2-3 years will convert into a state-of-the-art animal health biologics drug product manufacturing facility supporting some of their largest and fastest growing vaccine and monoclonal antibody (mAbs) products. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join at the start of this exciting journey initially supporting and controlling the significant capital investments at the site, transitioning to support ramp and driving operational improvements with the site team once commercial manufacturing begins.
The successful candidate will have an affinity for manufacturing operations and previous experience supporting large capital investments and preparing capital project appraisals, complimented with a strong operational background and be able to support the site through the stand up of commercial manufacturing and beyond. They will be able to drive operational effectiveness, efficiency and drive decision-making by translating financial impacts and scenarios.
This position will also be responsible for delivering strong financial performance, reinforcing a culture of accountability for financial results at the site while ensuring a strong control environment and compliance with policies and procedures. Maintaining a high performing and engaged team will also be critical to success.
Responsibilities:
Provide financial support and counsel to site leader and leadership team, drive financial performance at the site and foster a continuous improvement culture across the organization.
Support the on-going investment program at this site, partnering with colleagues across the site and wider organization on capital project appraisals.
Lead long range financial planning activities for the site; a key partner in identifying and implementing strategic initiatives at the site.
Establish effective working relationships with finance and non finance colleagues across the organization. Maintain close working relationship with Finance Lead, Biologics Platform.
Responsibility for financial planning, analysis and control including leadership of annual budget process, product costing, quarterly forecasting activity and monthly reporting of actual results, ensuring the timeliness and integrity of financial data.
Maintain compliance with US GAAP and Zoetis accounting policies and procedures. Co-ordinate internal and external audit activity. Promote a strong financial controls environment including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls.
Support manufacturing network strategy reviews and proposals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- 10+ years of progressive finance background
- Masters and/or CMA/CPA preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other statutory requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Experience managing a manufacturing site as part of a management team.
- Ability to influence and provide direction to achieve a high level of financial performance and compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate at various levels across the Company.
- Strategic and analytical thinker with a successful track record of managing complex problems.
- Detail oriented, responsive, and proactive. Fosters clarity, transparency, consistency, and widespread understanding across the business.
- Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Work effectively in a team environment and in building collaborative relationships with peers and with other stakeholders.
- Aligned with Zoetis vision, mission and core beliefs.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles.
- Previous experience in working in complex environments and driving change and continuous improvement while managing competing priorities.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- SAP experience highly desirable.
